On June 18th, 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting a technical visit to Romania’s largest battery energy storage facility, part of the first hybrid photovoltaic-wind-battery project within the Mireasa Wind Farm, located in Constanța County. This event, organized in partnership with FOREN, successfully showcased our innovative project and generated significant interest among attendees.
Participants had the opportunity to explore the Battery Storage unit with an installed power of 24 MWh (6MWx4h), constructed by Monsson using a unique patented project and featuring batteries produced by the Romanian company Prime Batteries Technology. This facility, the first phase of a larger project that will ultimately offer a total storage capacity of 216 MWh, represents a significant advancement in energy storage technology.
During the visit, attendees learned about the integration of the storage unit with the existing 50MW Mireasa Wind Park and the under-construction 35MW Gălbiori 2 photovoltaic park. They also gained insights into the fully automated control system operated through Monsson’s proprietary software, which enables efficient energy storage and distribution without the need for local operational staff.
The event’s agenda included a welcome reception, a welcome speech, and a detailed tour of the storage unit, the SCADA software control room, and the battery installation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated at this event. Your presence and interest are invaluable as we continue to advance renewable energy solutions and enhance the stability and efficiency of the National Energy System in Romania.
Here are some highlights from the event:
